Along with the Army, the U.S. Air Force has a major presence in Alabama. There are over 3,000 active duty Air Force members stationed at Maxwell-Gunter AFB, in addition to another 1,300 reserve members.

Army Bases
Although there are only three Army bases in Alabama, the Army has a significant presence. At last count there were over 4,500 active duty soldiers and 5,000 Army reserve members stationed in Alabama.

Coast Guard Bases
There are over 1,000 active duty Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard service members in Alabama. However, the majority of them are in the Coast Guard (about 850 members).
